Making the campus more fun

The campus and its surrounding neighbourhood are important places in Delft for students. What developments are the parties thinking about over the next four years?

Stip, D66 and VVD would like to make the campus and the surrounding neighbourhood livelier, with shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. This is partly to alleviate the city centre, and partly to create a fun neighbourhood for students that live on campus. Most parties also want to make the campus more accessible.

One idea is to let tram 19 run to the campus instead of it ending at Delft Central Station. This would create a direct connection between the campus, Delft station and The Hague. This will have to wait until after the renovation of the Sint Sebastiaansbrug in 2019, however. D66 would align the frequency of the tram with the university’s lectures.

Another option, supported by PvdA, GroenLinks and Stip, is to construct two new bike bridges across the Schie.
