UNITECH accepting applications for 2015–2016 International Programme

Applications for the upcoming UNITECH International Programme are now open to (3rd year) bachelor’s and master’s students at TU Delft. Successful candidates will can study abroad at a UNITECH partner university and to complete an internship with one of the organisation’s corporate partners.

In order to prepare top engineering students for their professional careers, UNITECH International, in cooperation with eight leading European universities and a host of multinational firms have developed an international education programme aimed at broadening students’ business skills. Over the course of one-year, chosen applicants embark on an academic exchange programme, follow in-depth, management-training modules and pursue an internship abroad. After completing the programme, these students can become members of the UNITECH Alumni Association and take part in the organisation’s exclusive educational and social events.

“It’s extremely fun and also very useful and interesting,” said Gjalt Annega, UNITECH Chapter Coordinator for TU Delft. “This is a good opportunity to do something useful and learn some new things.” Shortly after beginning his master’s in aerospace engineering at TU Delft, Annega was accepted into the UNITECH programme. He studied at Politecnico di Milano in Italy before completing an internship at optics firm Optotune in Zurich. “It was a whole new experience in terms of learning about design, marketing and management,” Annega said. “I learned a lot of different things that I did not know before and I had one of the best times in my life, I must say.”

Students interested in the programme can fill out an application on the UNITECH website before February 15, 2015. Suitable candidates must fulfil certain academic criteria and are required to have proficient knowledge of the English language. Once shortlisted by TU Delft, applicants will be invited to a one-day assessment at the university on March 4, 2015 to ensure that they have the necessary skills to meet the challenges of the UNITECH programme.

On Tuesday, December 16, 2014, the UNITECH Delft Chapter will host an information session at Room H of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management beginning at 17:00. Students are invited to attend the event in order to learn more about the programme, the application procedure and to meet several UNITECH Almuni who will be sharing their experiences. To register for the event, participants are requested to send an e-mail to C.G.M.deBruin@tudelft.nl. For more information about the UNITECH programme, visit www.unitech-international.org.
