Students finally see their research take off

Remember the two TU Delft students who built a sounding rocket in the Arctic Circle? It was finally launched last week.

The Volare-1 was successfully launched from Andøya Space Center in Norway.

TU Delft students Vasileios Zygouris and Killian Dally couldn’t be there when their rocket, the Volare-1, was successfully launched from Andøya Space Center in Norway last week. However, both of the first year students at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering visited the center in March and wrote about it for Delta. Due to weather conditions the rocket couldn’t be launched then.

Zygouris and Dally returned to Delft for their studies and exams and have been waiting for the launch ever since. Yesterday they sent Delta this video that shows that the Voltare-1 really works.
