Single vs in a relationship

Guys in a relationship are often subjected to a lot of criticism by their friends. They hardly join for partying, drink less and are henpecked by their girlfriends.

Off course this is mostly based on jealousy, especially here in Delft, but it can lead to interesting situations during a night out.

A group of eight dudes, of which six are in a relationship, is going out to party during their so called houseweekend. Completely intoxicated by too many cheap b-label beers they set off for a bar in The Hague.

The Hague is a rather well explored hunting territory for guys from Delft, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that there are some familiar faces among the female population in the bar. Two girls are more than well known to the two single roommates. Roommate 1 quickly decides to pretend not to know his girl any more, as he finds out he was wearing beer goggles the other night. However, roommate 2 is quickly busy hitting on the second girl. The same beer goggle story applies to this girl, but guess why roommate 2 has the nickname ‘horse whisperer’.

There are plenty of hot girls in the bar as well, two of them in particular show interest in the studs from Delft. Roommate 2 is in doubt; as one of the few singles of the group he has a good chance of hooking up with the hot girl, but that means letting go of his other, to put it mildly, not-rather-pretty-sure-thing. The roommates that are in a relationship talk to the girls as well; talking is always allowed. Final outcome: as could be expected the hot girls want what they cannot get, and roommate 2 by spreading his chances ends up with nothing.

In the taxi on the way home roommate 2 ventilates his frustration on the other roommates. Why would they mess up his game when they are in relationship? The others wisely let him rave, the next day when the houseweekend is over they return to the warm bed of their girlfriends.
