Canal rage

The 21-year-old man who threw a female TU Delft student into a canal last November has been sentenced by a Hague court to 180 hours community service and a 475 euro fine. The man made a right turn without signaling and almost ran over the female student, who shouted at the driver. The driver pursued the student and in the confrontation that followed, the student threw her bike at the driver, and the driver then threw the woman into the canal on the Gasthuislaan.
