Nostalgia

Marco Marino, 25, moved from Naples, Italy in August 2011 to pursue a master’s in aerospace engineering but he couldn’t come without his moka pot.

“As an Italian, coffee, or, as we would call it anywhere outside Italy, espresso, is an integral part of my life. Coffee is not just a beverage or a drink, it is a cult,” he says. His mother gave him the pot before he moved. “Being able to prepare a good coffee with a moka pot is a basic prerequisite to be considered Italian, and any exception is considered an enormous shame,” says Marino.
