Architecture robbedThieves broke into TU Delft’s Architecture Faculty last week, stealing more than 100,000 euros worth of computer parts.

The thieves broke open 124 computers and stole the memory chips and processors. “The thieves knew what they were looking for,” said faculty building manager, Rick de Hoop. “They broke open the computers and removed what was most valuable. It will cost more money to replace the memories and processors than to buy new computers.” The break-in occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday night. The building’s alarm did not go off. “They knew how to bypass the alarms, because the alarm is on the door”, De Hoop said. De Hoop maintained that the building has good security, but said that because the faculty is a public building, “anyone can enter to find the building’s most vulnerable places.”
Sports Day

On Thursday, June 15, some 240 students from five countries will compete against each other in a range of sports during the fifth annual Idea League Sports Day. Idea League is an academic and research partnership of five European universities: TU Delft, Imperial College London, ETH Zúrich, Aachen RWTH, and ParisTech. This annual Sports Day aims to further enhance relationships between Idea League students. The games will played at TU Delft’s Sports Centre during the day, followed by a Beach Party in the evening.
