Flexible peak hour opening times for libraryThe university library must be open from 8 a.m. til midnight on weekdays, and from 10 a.m. til 10 p.m

Springy chair

Last week Industrial Design Engineering student Niels Vrijlandt won the Assistant-SEE-innovation prize for his Micor Gravity chair. ,,I designed a feeling,” he says. In 2003 his “feeling” will be on the market in the form of a chair that subtly moves with a person’s every movement, including clicking a mouse. A cure for RSI? Vrijlandt’s chair, which counterbalances a person’s body weight with springs, will cost between 450 and 900 Euro. Vrijlandt received 2,500 Euro in prize money for his floating chair. TU sells Dish Hotel

TU Delft last Friday sold the Dish hotel on the Kanaalweg to DUWO, the housing company for students. By selling the hotel, the TU hopes to improve the housing situation in Delft. DUWO plans to house foreign students in the building, although they’ve yet to finalise this plan. The TU and DUWO refused to reveal the purchase price.
