During the chase, the burglars threatened the students with a stick and one of the students received a head-butt, before the police finally apprehended the thieves. The police were very proud of the heroic TU students. ,,They judged the situation correct, and thanks to the students the burglars were caught,” says Jan van den Braak, a police spokesman. The students, who refuse to dicuss the incident, received flowers and a box of wine from the grateful hotel owner.

Language complaint

The Natural Dutch Foundation (SNN) has suffered another setback. The lobby group, which believes that English is too widely used in the Netherlands, filed an official complaint with the national Ombudsman, charging that there is too much English in use at TU Delft. The Ombudsman ruled that the SNN should first take its complaint to the TU itself. However, the SNN says that it has already approached the TU at the beginning of the year, but that they have been ignored. ,,We didn’t get any answer from the TU,” the foundation claims. Given the fact that the TU is an international university, the SNN should perhaps concentrate their efforts elsewhere
