Students of End Fossil Leiden and Delft again protested against the presence of the fossil industry at De Delftse Bedrijvendagen on Wednesday 22 February. This time the students were inside the Aula, the career event site. They hung banners with texts like ‘Get the (S)hell out of here’ on the railings and disrupted talks by Exxon and Shell. They then joined climate activists from Ocean Rebellion, who were outside. They focused their protest specifically on deep-sea mining companies. The activists believe the ocean floor should be left alone, as they say these are ‘the last untouched pieces of nature left’. (SB)
