Meet the TU Delft Scholarship Club

Feeling a little lost as a scholarship student at TU Delft? Don’t worry, this Thursday you can go to a gala to meet a new student association: the TU Delft Scholarship Club.

The board. Front from left to right: Ashwini Petchiappan, Aminat Rasheed, Azqa Nadeem, Amritasree Menon and Mina Kocaman. Back from left to right: Mario Sosa, Alvaro Prida, Junaid Mehmood and Prashanth Guledal. Missing: Turkuaz Nacafi.

The Club started a couple of months ago and its board will officially introduce the club and itself during the gala. The goal of the club is to create a platform for scholarship students related to TU Delft. The Club will organise academic activities like workshops on presentation skills, cultural activities and career activities such as teaching students how to prepare a CV.

In the long term, the Club aims to create a platform for students with scholarships, alumni who had scholarships and students who are applying for TU Delft scholarships, team member Marco Galli says. “We are also discussing how to give something back to the TU Delft community by organising activities for students and being representatives of the university by sharing testimonials, creating networks and contacting companies for funds for more scholarships or internships.”

Initially, the Club will just focus on scholarship students. “But in time, we will grow and include honours students and all kind of students,” Galli says. “We would like to help students who are sometimes a bit lost. There is not one community that puts them all together.”

The Delft University of Technology Scholarship Club will have its inauguration and first annual Gala on Thursday February 22nd 2018, 7:30 p.m. at the Theatre Room of TUD Culture Centre.
