International students partly excluded

Instead of downsizing the number of regular BSc/MSc Architecture students, TU’s executive board and the faculty council of Architecture have decided to limit the number of exchange students.

Only 200 ‘Erasmus students’ will be welcome in Delft next year. Presently, about 250 international students traded their home universities for Delft.

The original plan was to downsize the number of regular students to 400, by applying a numerus fixus (fixed number of admitted students). Thus probably 250 students would be excluded from Architecture, as this year 650 people started the most popular BSc/MSc study in Delft.

Exchange students who apply to Architecture after the start of the Academic year on September 1, will also be left out.

The faculty’s education quality was heavily criticised last year. If the new measures won’t improve the quality, the numerus fixus for the regular program may still come into force.
