International students get vaccinated in the Netherlands

Everyone who is registered with a Dutch municipality will automatically receive a notification for a covid-19 vaccination by post. This also applies to international students.

Will international students also be vaccinated in the Netherlands?
Yes, everyone who is registered with a Dutch municipality is automatically eligible for vaccination, according to the implementation guideline for COVID-19 vaccination (in Dutch). Erasmus Magazine, which was asked the same question by international students, stated that you have to be registered in the Netherlands for at least one month.

Do I need to take any special measures?
You will automatically receive an invitation at home, telling you where and when you can get your vaccination. This invitation letter will probably be written in Dutch. The only step you need to take is to go to the right place at the appointed time.

Where can I get vaccinated?
If you live in Delft, you fall under GGD Haaglanden, which currently has two test locations: the Cars Jeans Stadium of ADO Den Haag and HagaZiekenhuis Sportlaan. Many more locations are expected to be opened, so there’s a chance that you will have to go to a different location. The GGD will expand the number of vaccination locations as soon as larger groups start getting vaccinated.

When is it my turn?
That is hard to say because the vaccination planning can still change. At the moment medical staff, people who live in a nursing home, and the elderly who are over 85 years old are getting vaccinated. By the end of March or the beginning of April, it will be the turn of people between 18 and 60 years old with health problems. According to the current schedule, the remaining age groups will receive their notification between April and October.
