International Sports Day

International Sports DayOn Saturday March 25, the 2006 International Sports Day will be held at TU Delft’s Sport Centre.

This is the seventh time TU Delft has participated in this international event, and the first time the university will host the event. 550 foreign students on teams from nine Dutch universities and institutes will compete in a wide variety of sports. This year’s TU Delft team has 90 members, who will compete in: soccer, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table-tennis, chess, running and darts. This year’s International Sports Day will also feature a special frisbee workshop by Bart van Beek, who was crowned National Outdoor Frisbee Champion in 2004. It’s hoped that many students will turn out to cheer on TU Delft’s great international athletes, as they sweat and strain themselves toward what is hoped will be ultimate victory! Paul Rullmann, vice-president of TU Delft’s Executive Board, will open the event at 9:30 in Hall 2 of the Sports Centre. The finals for the various sports will be played between 16:30 and 17:30, with the awards ceremony being held at 20:00. For more information, contact Mary Dotman: m.dotman@tudelft.nl (DM)
