International school coming to TU Delft

The newly opened International School Delft (ISD) is currently planning a move to the TU Delft campus.
This primary school, which held its first classes in March of this year, is currently located on the Nassaulaan in Delft.

They hope to move to a permanent home at Jaffalaan 9 in early 2015.

The ISD is part of the Laurentius Stichting, which manages twenty-five schools in the area. According to Dave Wijsman, their facilities manager, the ISD is a unique concept as an integrated facility offering daycare, a primary school and after school care. “We are collaborating very closely with TU Delft and the Stichting Rijswijkse Kinderopvang (daycare organization),” he said. “We are in the process of developing a beautiful facility.”

Wijsman noted that this will be the first time TU Delft has children on campus. The group will also be offering onsite daycare for international employees and students. The new daycare facility, which is called True Colors Delft, will offer care for children from 0-12 years. TU Delft staff and students will be given priority for registration.

Ronald Kuil, a real estate developer the university, said that the university supports the ISD and daycare being in a university building, in part, because of the significant number of people with international backgrounds at the university. “We are always looking for possibilities to make the TU Delft even more attractive for top employees around the world,” he stated.
