HR to replace software by 2021

TU Delft staff are familiar with the multifaceted nature of ICT solutions for leave applications, sick leave and submitting claims. Taking effect on 1 January 2021, all HR related matters will be brought together in a single system. This, at least, is the target date for the software company AFAS which has already supplied four universities and 50 hospitals with a similar system.

According to Job Wessel, Marketing Manager Care, Government and Education at AFAS, the system includes matters such as leave requests, sick leave notifications, address changes, declarations, time registration and travel expenses. It is not yet known whether the IKA system will be included as well. Employees will have access to the system via a mobile app and a web portal.

Ingrid Halewijn, Head of HR at TU Delft, says that as “We are working with the most advanced technologies in our research, so we cannot do without a modern software system for our employees.”

Wessel says that “HR will benefit because processes will more efficient and integrated, and employees will have more direct and easier access to their data.”
