[Blog] IRPdelft present their experiences

The master students of IRPdelft went to Rio for a break. This Friday they present their experiences of working abroad at their closing event.

This is the sixth and last article in a series of blogposts in which we share our experiences of IRPdelft, a non-profit foundation which provides master students a challenging international and educational experience abroad during the summer. Throughout the year, we shared our experiences and are now preparing for our closing event: The Seminar. After this blogpost, we will hand this space over to the new board, which is already preparing for next year.

Rio de Janeiro

We are still reminiscing about our amazing holiday week in Rio de Janeiro and its surrounding landscapes. After seven weeks of hard work in Brazil, we deserved a short break so the teams came together in Rio de Janeiro for nine days of relaxation, sightseeing, culture and beautiful landscapes.

Besides the obvious must-see spots in Rio de Janeiro, like the statue of Christ the Redeemer and Copacabana beach, we also did a two day hike from the pretty city of Paraty. The hike had a breathtaking reward at the end: an amazing waterfall that flowed into the ocean. To end our holiday, we stayed in villas on a small island where the only transport was by boat. We had a blast!

Seminar

It has been a year full of incredible experiences, and Rio de Janeiro was only a small part of it. It still has to sink in! But no time for that as our closing event is quickly approaching. We will share our adventures abroad at the event at the chic location De Lindenhof on Friday 28 September.

Families, companies, alumni and interested TU Delft students who may want to do IRPdelft next year are invited to come and hear the inspiring stories of the project groups. Each project team will present their experiences working abroad in a different culture. There will also be two keynote speakers: Hans de Jong, President of Philips Netherlands will talk about the future of Healthcare; and Bram Mulder, IRPdelft alumnus, who found his dream job at the company he did a project for with IRPdelft.

New team 2019

Then there is just one important talk left: the revelation of the destination of IRPdelft 2019. The new board of IRPdelft 2019 will entertain the audience with a unique presentation in which it will announce next year’s summer destination. The new board consists of David Kamp, Michiel Hickey, Johan van den Heuvel and Freija Rozendaal.
