CourseLesbian perspectives on gendered sexuality. 15, 22 and 28 February . Teacher: dr R.C. Hoogland. Language: English.

This course provides historical overview of the development of lesbian studies as a specific mode of critical practice and theory as it emerged in relation to – and often in direct confrontation with – (other) forms of women’s/gender studies.

Japan

The Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto University, is offering a new doctor degree program, the International Doctoral Program in Energy Science. The primary objective of this program is to provide young students and researchers having a Master degree (or equivalent) with an opportunity to further their studies toward a doctor degree at Kyoto University. In this doctoral program, Japanese language is not required in accomplishing their studies but a good command of English is necessary.

Students admitted to the program will be financially supported for three years through a Japanese Government (Monbusho) Scholarship.

Deadline for applications is February 16th. Application forms together with detailed information on the following subjects:

* courses and number of applicants to be admitted;

* eligibility;

* scholarship and other financial supports;

* selection and admission;

* application procedure are obtainable at the Information Centre of the Student Advisory Office.
