Waqas Sayes (26) has been in Delft for about a year, working as a PhD student at the faculty of EEMCS. He is from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, where he regularly used the local motorized rickshaws services to get around town. “It’s more expensive than the bus, but you’re much more certain that you’ll arrive on time at your destination. The only disadvantage is that the rickshaws make a lot of noise.” A ride of some 10 kilometers costs about 60 eurocents, but then you must also share the ride with two other passengers. Sayes bought this souvenir in Islamabad prior to coming to the Netherlands.
